Datacenter location and connectivity¶
Dropsolid Experience Platform makes use of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as reliable partner.
By using Google Cloud Platform (GCP), we can also offer a solution where configurability and management, scalability, security (vb. encryption at rest en in transit), compliancy (e.g. ISO/IEC 27001) traceability and auditability are needed. We work closely with a Google Cloud Premier partner to ensure our knowledge about Google Cloud’s offering is on point. All servers and services from GCP are physically located in the EEA for compliance, geographical redundancy and disaster recovery.
Datacenters¶
By default we make use of following Google data centres in specific regions based on the continent:
These regions per continent are located at least 160 km from each other, and make use of at least 3 independent data centres (= zones). This can be adapted based on the needs or requirements.
Other continents or regions can be discussed.
Europe¶
- primary: europe-west1 (St. Ghislain, Belgium)
- secondary: europe-west2 (Frankfurt, Germany)
- fallback for DR: europe-west4 (Eemshaven, Netherlands)
North America¶
- primary: us-central1 (Iowa, North America)
- secondary: us-west1 (Oregon, North America)
- fallback for DR: us-south1 (Mexico, North America)
Connectivity¶
The GCP servers and services we use are all connected to the other hosting providers and clients via their premium tier network.
This Premium Tier delivers traffic from external systems to Google Cloud resources by using Google's low latency, highly reliable global network.
This network consists of an extensive private fiber network with over 100 points of presence (PoPs) around the globe. This network is designed to tolerate multiple failures and disruptions while still delivering traffic.
